Seaholm District Area Information:

The Seaholm District in Austin TX is one of the very few EcoDistricts in North America. It is located on Lady Bird Lake, just South of the Market District and South West of the Warehouse District.

The defined boundaries are on the West – Lamar Boulevard, to the East – San Antonio Street (including all Trammell Crow Parcels on Block 1 & 23, Austin Music Hass, Austin Ballet, 360 Condominiums, and State of Texas District Chiller Site), to the North – 4th Street, both banks of Shoal Creek, as well as parts of 3rd and 5th Streets (including Spring Condominiums and 311 Bowie) and to the South – East Cesar Chavez Street and Lady Bird Lake.

The focal point of this district is based on the historical mid century Power Plant that was Austin’s first electrical plant by Walter E. Seaholm. It was first developed in 1950 and after taking 8 years to build, the Seaholm Power Plant continued to operate until 1989.

The City of Austin has since planned for the Seaholm District to be developed and utilized in a variety of mixed-use applications.
